Corey Beaubien and Shannon Smith helped coordinate a joint event

Corey Beaubien, as the Vice President of the IP Inn of Court, and Shannon Smith, as the Vice President of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA), helped coordinate a joint event with the Oakland County Bar Association.  The event included a STEM toy drive to help benefit the Salvation Army of Pontiac.

Patents prepared by Corey Beaubien were recently upheld

Two U.S. design patents prepared by Corey Beaubien for a Detroit-based automaker were recently upheld as not invalid by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC). The design patents were challenged in a dispute with one of the world’s largest automotive replacement parts maker.

Corey Beaubien and Shannon Smith have been appointed as coaches for the 2020 International Patent Application Drafting Competition put on by the USPTO. The competition introduces law students to issues arising in United States Patent Law and helps develop their patent application drafting, amending, and prosecuting skills.
