Yao’s practice integrates multiple disciplines of IP law, including the analysis, enforcement, and prosecution of patents and trademarks. She develops and manages global IP portfolios for corporate clients and universities. She has also overseen and instructed foreign counsel as they prosecute patent applications and enforce IP in China.
A licensed patent attorney and patent agent in China, and she has been practicing IP law in China for nearly 10 years. Yao has extensive experience in IP litigation, enforcement, and prosecution in China. She regularly works with chemical and mechanical technologies. Yao regularly handles patent applications related to chemical and mechanical technologies.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Shanghai University. Yao obtained her law degrees from Fordham Law School and Shanghai University. She is a Chinese national and fluent in both Mandarin and Shanghainese. Yao is admitted to practice law in the United States as well as in China. Her background, language ability, global legal skills, and IP knowledge enable her to provide invaluable assistance to clients as they develop global IP strategies to protect the companies’ innovations and maximize IP portfolio value.
