Alaina is a patent attorney licensed by the State Bar of Michigan and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is an active member of the Michigan Intellectual Property Inn of Court. She graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2024 where she served as the President of the Wayne Intellectual Property Student Association and the Executive Note and Comment Editor of Wayne Law Review. Her Note “Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda: Why Federal Courts Can and Should Apply a Would Standard to the Non-obviousness Requirement of Design Patent Law” was published by the Wayne Law Review.

Alaina earned her Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Grand Valley State University. During her time at Grand Valley, she worked as an undergraduate research assistant and conducted research regarding the pathogenicity of Candida albicans. Before joining the firm, she completed an internship at Karmanos Cancer Institute where she studied TMPRSS13, a transmembrane protease, and its relation to breast cancer.
