Matt Schmidt successfully opposed another trademark application in China

Matt Schmidt successfully opposed another trademark application in China. The application was filed by a competitor of a Reising client and was close to a family of marks owned by our client. Matt was successful in demonstrating not only that registration of the proposed mark would be in conflict with our clients’ prior registrations and trademark use in China, but also that the opposed application was filed in bad faith. As a result, the opposed application was denied in full as to all goods for which registration was sought. Matt has handled trademark matters in most industrialized countries of the world and diligently works to protect our clients’ worldwide brands, goodwill, and reputations.
