Shelly is knowledgeable on every step of bringing innovations to market, including development of IP strategies, worldwide patent preparation and prosecution, licensing, agreements, and preparing opinions on infringement, validity, and freedom to practice.
Shelly has experience in obtaining and enforcing IP rights for an amazing range of product categories, including robotics, radars, software, digital projection, microprocessors, printing, and medical devices. She also has extensive experience in automotive technologies, working in categories such as autonomous driving systems, radar design and control, fuel cell systems, traction control systems, adaptive cruise control, and human-machine interfaces.
Before beginning her legal career, Shelly was an electrical project engineer with Kimberly-Clark Corporation, where she implemented machine control systems for capital investment projects. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1995 and a Juris Doctor degree from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2002.
