William’s impressive two decades as an attorney run the gamut of IP services, from preparation and prosecution to licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation. He has authored over 300 original patent applications and handled nearly 50 appeals to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He has served as lead intellectual property counsel on several mergers and acquisitions involving purchase prices exceeding $100 million.
William regularly counsels individuals and companies with respect to procuring, protecting, and enforcing intellectual property rights. His patent prosecution focuses on the electrical, electro-mechanical, and computer arts, and he has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide variety of technologies, including medical devices, automotive control systems, industrial power transmission devices, motor architectures, data storage and retrieval, and electronic interfaces.
William received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan. During law school, he was an associate editor and then a contributing editor for the Michigan Law Review.
