William F. Kolakowski recently helped a client obtain a key patent relating to a system for re-configuring a remote device by providing for general purpose input/output functionality over a network. U.S. Patent No. 9,727,046 titled “System for Monitoring or Controlling a Remote Programmable Device by Configuring a Reconfigurable Record Stored on a Server by a Local Computing Device” survived various challenges by the USPTO including assertions that the patent was directed to an abstract idea.
